STAMFORD BROOK
LOFT ROOMS
Two teenage-proof bedrooms and a shared bathroom have been created in the underused attic of a bustling family home
Careful consideration has been given to lighting the top storey of this detached, Edwardian home. Generous skylights have been installed in both rooms and on the interconnecting landing. These flood the rooms with natural light during the day. In the evening, wall and task lighting creates a soft atmosphere for reading, socialising and studying.
In both bedrooms, the sloping walls have been fitted with wood panelling of varying widths. This creates graphic interest whilst providing a robust surface. A playful colour palette creates a separate identity in each space, whilst drawing the eye through the upper level. Patterned textiles, bright accessories and an eclectic selection of furniture bring personality to both rooms.
In the shared bathroom, a classic, monochromatic scheme and robust fixtures and fittings give the space a timeless appeal that counteracts the colourful surroundings.
